How Verticals Help in Choosing Major and Minor
- Know your interest: a student who likes numbers may choose Accounting, Taxation or Finance; one who likes people may choose Marketing or HR.
- Link to professional courses: Accounting and Taxation support CA and CMA; Commercial Laws supports CS; Finance and Capital Markets support CFA and NISM certifications.
- Job market demand: GST, digital payments and data have increased demand for tax, e-commerce and analytics skills.
- Combination is possible: under NEP 2020 a student can take a Major in one vertical and a Minor in another, e.g., Major in Accounting and Minor in Business Analytics.
- Further study: each vertical leads to M.Com, MBA specialisations or professional certificates.
